After and EXTENSIVE search for counter-height wood barstools for my 1930s home, in the "schoolhouse / craftsman" style, I took a chance on these. Boy, what a great decision! I'm SUPER picky, and my expectations were exceeded with these stools. I really hate cheap, flimsy stools, and was after something that felt like a commercial restaurant or bar-style seat. These fit the bill perfectly. They are HEAVY, solidly constructed of solid wood, and arrived fully-assembled and flawless in very heavy, large boxes. The "butt groove" is just right, and everyone is surprised by how comfortable they are for a non-padded stool. I really don't see how I could have done better than these! And the bonus? They're made in USA, right up in Michigan! I paid $209 each, and feel like they were an absolute steal.
