I have owned these chairs for about 9 months now and the material is still in great shape. I noticed they may have bowed to one side as when I sit I automatically turn one way. This could be my fault too in how shorter guests may have pulled it more one way so note that it could bow the internal mechanism and make you slowly turn when you sit, but this is not visible, only noticeable after you sit. Overall great price and quality.
